Pastor Shian W. O’Connor joined the Cayman Islands Conference in July of 2000. He was appointed Pastor for the Kings and West Bay Seventh-day Adventist Churches. He served the West Bay congregation for seven years and the Kings congregation for twelve. He also served the Maranatha and Ebenezer Churches for two years.

Pastor O’Connor served the Cayman Islands Conference as Departmental Director in the areas of Personal Ministries, Education, Family Life Ministries, Men’s Ministries, and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, before he was elected President in January 2012.

Pastor Reinaldo Dracket

Pastor Dracket was born in Port Limon, Costa Rica, and Central America. He is fluent in both Spanish and English languages, and this has afforded him the privilege of ministering to English and Hispanic congregations.  Being a third generation Seventh-day Adventist gave him the solid foundation he needed to move into gospel ministry.

He has given 30 years of service in ministry to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.    He served his native country as pastor and departmental director for six years before joining the ministerial forces in the Cayman Islands Conference.   This has been his home for the past 24 years, severing as pastor and departmental director.

His first district was Cayman Brac, where he gave sterling service for five years. Thereafter, he has ministered to members and communities of West Bay, Bodden Town, North Side, Savannah, Maranatha and Filadelfia. He also served the Cayman Islands Conference, with distinction, in the capacity as Executive Secretary, Youth, Health, Publishing, Education, Stewardship, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department Director.  Hundreds of persons have found Jesus as a result of his ministry.

He is a lover of youth, and his desire always is to witness young people choose positive paths and, by extension, be a blessing to their church and community.  His goal in ministry is to see all of us living in readiness for the soon coming of Jesus.

Pastor Dracket loves people, and is happiest when he is witnessing to others of the good news of salvation. On occasions, you may find him doing a little farming, working around the home or just relaxing.

He is married to Nelda Rose (nee) Carey, native of the Bahamas, for over 29 years.   God has blessed their union with three magnificent children: Deandro, Demiko and Denisha, who are now young-adults, and a terrific grandson, Devonte.

Pastor Ivor S. Harry

Ivor Samuel Harry was born in Guyana, South America. He accepted the Seventh-day Adventist message as a teenager and gained valuable experience working in most departments of the church. His love for evangelism was demonstrated quite early in life and, he was named top Lay-Evangelist of the Guyana Conference in 1978. After completing his secondary education in his native country, he migrated to Jamaica in August 1981 to pursue studies in religion at West Indies College.

Pastor Harry graduated in 1985 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Religion. He has since completed a Masters of Arts degree in Education from Andrews University and the Doctor of Ministry degree at the Inter –American Adventist Theological Seminary. Before accepting the call to work in full time Gospel Ministry, Pastor Harry worked as a High School Business Education Teacher and a Probation Officer in the Correctional Services Department, Government of Jamaica. He served Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as a District Pastor and Departmental Director with responsibility for Youth, Education and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for close to nineteen years. He has also served as part-time lecturer at Northern Caribbean University and the University College of the Caribbean. Dr. Harry accepted a call to serve as a District Pastor in the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in June 2011. At the third Conference Session of the Cayman Islands Conference in January 2012, he was asked by the church to serve as Youth Ministries and Education Director of the Conference. His ministry to date has resulted in over fourteen hundred persons giving their lives to Jesus. Marlene, his wife of twenty-four years, is trained in Business Administration and has worked with several organizations including Central Jamaica Conference and West Indies Union. God has blessed them with one daughter, Alana, who has just completed a degree in Biology at Northern Caribbean University.

Pastor Vaughan Henry

Pastor Vaughan Henry is a visionary, a Man of God and a man of prayer. He is a graduate of the Northern Caribbean University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion and Theology. He has been an evangelist for the past 15 years and has ministered in countries such as Jamaica, Africa, United States of America and the Cayman Islands.

Pastor Henry is the Pastor of the Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands. He is married to one Nardia Henry, and the union has produced two lovely children. It is his prayer and commitment that God will continue to anoint him for His divine purpose, and that he will walk in the deific will of God on a daily basis as he prepares men and women for the kingdom of God.

Pastor Jeff Jefferson

Pastor Jeff Jefferson provides spiritual leadership to the Kings and Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist churches and communities.  He is a graduate of West Indies College (Northern Caribbean University) and a student at the Inter-America Adventist Theological Seminary where he is pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Theology.

He is married to Tricia (a Medical Technologist), with whom he has been sharing team ministry since 2002.  Prior to joining the workforce in the Cayman Islands Conference, Pastor Jefferson gave fifteen years of ministerial service in Central Jamaica Conference as Pastor/Evangelist and most recently, Ministerial Secretary and Conservation Coordinator.

Pastor Wesley David Nyack

Pastor Wesley David Nyack was born in the island of Trinidad and started preaching from the early age of 16 years at the Cocoyea Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Fernando, Trinidad.

At the completion of high school, he taught for three years but always had his eyes set on the call he received to become a minister of the Gospel.  So in 1975 he enrolled in University of Southern Caribbean to begin his studies in the gospel ministry.  He began his ministerial career in 1979 after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from University of Southern Caribbean (then Caribbean Union College).

While pastoring in Trinidad, he was called into Department work to lead the South Caribbean Conference in Lay Evangelism, Sabbath School and Community Services. Sensing the need for additional training, he further qualified himself for the ministry by obtaining a Master’s of Arts degree in Theology from Andrews University in 1988. He also attended Andrews University for studies in Family Life. During his thirty-five (35) years of ministry, he has received awards and recognition for pastoral leadership, preaching and evangelism.

In 1989 he accepted a call from the Cayman Islands Conference to ‘come over to Macedonia and help us’. Since then, he has been stationed in the Cayman Islands.  Presently, he is the pastor of the Bodden Town and Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church and Community Services Director.

Over the years, Pastor Nyack has been appointed to carry out the role of Director in departments such as Church Ministries, Sabbath School, Welfare Ministries, Family Life, Men’s Ministry and Personal Ministries.  He has also fulfilled the roles of Prayer Ministry Coordinator, and School Chaplain.  . Additionally, he has also served on various committees including the South Caribbean Conference Committee, Cayman Islands Conference Committee and the West Indies Union Committee.   His passion for teaching and preaching the gospel has motivated him to grasp opportunities to conduct Schools of Evangelism and Sabbath School seminars.  He has also been the guest speaker and evangelist in Jamaica, United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago and now the Cayman Islands.

Pastor Nyack is a man with a tremendous sense of humour, who passionately pursues the closest walk with the Lord in his life and calling. He is a gifted, charismatic, soul-stirring preacher of the everlasting gospel. His passion and enthusiastic delivery keeps his audience riveted and responsive to every salient point he makes in his messages. He is known as ‘Fire Nyack’ throughout the Caribbean but, above all, he is a man of God.

Pastor Caple Thompson

Pastor Caple Thompson is a native son of Westmoreland, Jamaica. He is a product of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. In 1977 he graduated from the Savanna-la-mar High School and in 1978 he matriculated into West Indies College, now Northern Caribbean University. In 1982 he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Theology. Additionally, in 1995 he graduated from Andrews University with a Masters degree in Educational Administration.

He was called to serve in the West Jamaica Conference in 1982 where he began his ministerial stint as Pastor/Evangelist. Pastor Thompson served for twelve years in that Conference. Subsequently, in 1994 he received a call from the Cayman Islands Mission to serve as Pastor/ Evangelist.

During his tenure in this Conference, he has had the privilege of pastoring several Pastoral Districts. He is currently the Pastor of the West Bay and Bethany Seventh-day Adventist Churches. Over the years, Pastor Thompson has served as a Departmental Director of the Cayman Islands Conference, in the areas of Family Life, Health Ministries, Community Services, ADRA and Men’s Ministries. He currently serves as the Health Ministries Director of the Conference.

He is married to Jennifer Thompson nee Nepaul. They have two children, Jon-David and Danya, who are both students of Cayman Academy. Pastor Thompson’s hobbies are reading, walking and playing good game cricket.
