The Men’s Ministries Director
Elder Terence Blake
Born in the island of Jamaica, Terence was raised in an Adventist home and was baptized at the age of 19.
He met the love of his life Cheryl Reeves in 1992 and in June, 1994, they joined their lives in marriage. Together they have two sons, Lee-El and Liran, ages 15 and 13, respectively, and they enjoy a wonderful family life.
Soon after his baptism, Terence started his service for God at the Mt. Salem Seventh-day Adventist church where he served in the Youth and Sabbath School departments.
In 1995, he migrated to the Cayman Islands and became a member of the George Town Seventh-day Adventist church where he worshipped for some 20 years. During this period while continuing in service for God, he served in the Youth, Family Life, Music, Men’s Ministries and Treasury departments and was ordained as an Elder in 2012. He and his family are currently worshipping with the Savannah congregation where he serves as an Elder.
The Men´s Ministries Department
Elder Blake welcomes the opportunity to serve as the Men’s Ministries Director for the Cayman Islands Conference. Together with the Men’s Ministries leaders of the churches, the goal is “to strengthen the men of the conference and the community to be more committed to God, their families and their communities.”
Elder Blake plans to continue building on the foundation that has been laid by his predecessors, and intends to integrate spiritual and social initiatives based on needs, expediency, manageability and cost effectiveness. He is conscious of the need to equip, encourage and empower the men of the church and the community to deal with the everyday challenges that stifle spiritual growth. Hence, he is prepared to lead, organize and facilitate forums that will address these issues in a holistic manner.
In keeping with the gospel commission in Matthew 28: 19 & 20, the plans are geared towards in-reach as well as out-reach development.
Elder Blake is grateful for the opportunity to serve the church in this capacity and solicits your prayers and support for him and his committee as they strive to empower men (young, middle-aged and senior) to be prepared and to prepare others for the soon coming of Christ.
