Community Services Department leaders will receive supplies. Distribution is on Sunday (August 20) at the Airport Park, from 12 to 3 pm. See the Social Bulletin for further details.   EPHESUS CAMPAIGN BEGINS THIS SABBATH The Ephesus Church presents the Transformed by His Word Evangelistic Campaign with speaker Pastor Romone Phoenix, of Jamaica. The campaign launches this Sabbath (August 19), at 9 am, and continues nightly Sunday to Wednesday, at 7:30 pm, and on Sabbaths, until September 9. Ephesus Church is located at the Hope Ministries Building, Seymour Drive (otherwise known as Dump Road). All are invited.   MARANATHA VBS BEGINS THIS SUNDAY The Maranatha Church’s Vacation Bible School, themed VBS Hero Central, begins this Sunday (20 August) at 6 pm, and continues each evening until Thursday, 24th, from 6 to 9 pm, at the church’s Seafarers Building, Prospect, location. Children will enjoy an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time. Activities designed to expand on lessons will include art & craft exercises, teaching of new songs, science experiments that demonstrate the power of God, and games. Snacks will be offered. The “VBS Heroes” will learn about Maranatha church’s mission project and invited to participate.   BODDEN TOWN VBS CONCLUDES THIS FRIDAY The graduation exercise for the Bodden Town Church’s Vacation Bible School, culminating the church’s 2017 VBS, takes place this Friday (18th) at 7 pm.   KINGS’ CRUSADE CONCLUDES Kings Church’s evangelistic crusade, Minutes to Midnight, with Evangelist Joshua Lawrence, concludes this Sabbath (August 19). Come and bring a neighbour or friend to this final service.   NCU ACKY INVITES TO VESPER SERVICES A Vesper Service on Friday (September 8) at 7 pm, at Kings Church, will feature the ACKy (NCU Alumni Chapter Cayman) Choir, as part of the association’s second anniversary celebrations. An important feature of the service will be brief testimonies by Dr. the Hon. Linford Pierson, Brother Deandro Dracket, and Pastor Kevin Danvers. Among other activities, on Sabbath (9 September), Dr. Denton Rhone, Interim Dean, School of Religion and Theology, and Associate Professor Leadership, Graduate School, will speak, at Kings Church. Dr. Rhone will also be speaking at 5 pm later that day on developments at NCU of interest to youth and parents. All are invited to the anniversary observances.   SABBATH SCHOOL CONVENTION COMING SOON All Sabbath School officers and teachers are reminded of the September 7 – 9 Sabbath School Convention. The launching Thursday evening session, on 7th,will be held at the Kings Church at 7 pm, but the Friday and Sabbath sessions, on September 8 and 9, respectively, will convene at the George Town Town Hall. The programme caters to participants five to 14 years; children under five should be accompanied by an adult.   The theme for the week is Cactusville. The campaign continues until Sabbath, August 19.   NCU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MUSICAL DRAMA DEPICTS THE GREAT CONTROVERSY All are invited to this Saturday night’s (12 August) musical drama, The Salvashan Story, to be staged at the John Gray High School Auditorium, beginning at 7:30 pm.  This is a Jamaican-styled production, depicting the cosmic battle between God and Satan, from the rebellion of Lucifer to the eventual destruction of evil and the restoration of God’s original purpose for this world. Author of the play is Pastor Derek Bignall, a former president of the West Indies Union Conference. See the Social Bulletin for further details.   NEWLANDS’ VBS GRADUATION THIS SABBATH The Newlands’ VBS graduation exercise is scheduled for place this Sabbath (August 12). See the Social Bulletin for details of Sunday’s concluding activities.   SERVICE LAUNCHES KINGS’ ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS Kings Church’s 20th anniversary celebrations begin Friday, September 22, with a Consecration Service led by Evangelist Pastor David Campbell.  Pastor Franklin M. Grant, Kings’ first pastor, will speak at the divine hour on Sabbath, 23rd.  A grand concluding banquet on Sunday, 24th, will feature renowned composer, songwriter, and solo singer Neville Peters. All are invited to come and celebrate with Kings. For further information, please contact Elder Sandra Rose, 326-0825.   HEALTH EXPO LAUNCHES HEALTH WEEK The Conference’s health week will begin with a Health Expo on Sunday, 17 September, 2017, at a venue to be announced.  In addition to the regular health screening, the Health Expo will include some specialized testing, including coronary-risk tests.  Its comprehensive range of health exhibits will include practical illustrations in nutrition, exercise, hydrotherapy, massage, benefits of sunshine, among many other areas of interest. Service times are 7:30 nightly except Thursdays, and on Sabbaths at 9:15 am.   NEW PASTOR TO BE INSTALLED The Cayman Islands Conference extends a cordial welcome to Pastor Kevin Danvers and family.   Pastor Danvers, who will be shepherding the congregations at the Savannah and East End pastoral districts, will be officially installed this Sabbath (August 5) in ceremonies at both churches.   NCU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MUSICAL DRAMA DEPICTS THE GREAT CONTROVERSY The Great Controversy is the theme of the musical drama, Salvashan Story, to be staged on Saturday, August 12, at 7:30 pm, at the John Gray High School Auditorium. As the name Salvashan Story implies, this is a Jamaican-styled production. It depicts the cosmic battle between God and Satan, from the rebellion of Lucifer to the eventual destruction of evil and the restoration of God’s original purpose for this world. The musical is based on excerpts from a play written by Pastor Derek Bignall, a former president of the West Indies Union Conference. The local version is directed by Sister Georgia Isaacs and takes the form of performances by the ACKy Choir punctuated with narration by Brother Robert Lynch. The symposium is in preparation for the 2019 Union-wide mega Lord, Transform Me, Summit to be held here in the Cayman Islands and to foster crucial 21st century leadership perspectives.   JOINT BIBLE CLASS AT KINGS ON DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE Pastor Obed Babb will conduct a joint Bible class on the subject of divorce and remarriage, at Kings Church on Sabbath (July 29), from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.  Pastor Babb, the Assistant Pastor at NCU Church and an adjunct professor at the university, is completing a three-week campaign at the Bodden Town Church.
