April 6-10 marks an historic event in the Cayman Islands Conference Ministerial family.  The Ministerial department had its first ever local pastors retreat, in Varadero, Cuba. The four-day event was designed to enrich the spiritual and professional life of the pastors. It also helped to increase the fraternal spirit among ministerial families.

During the period the pastors worked on strategic plans and projections for their district as well as examined other issues that will enhance the progress of the Lord’s work in the Conference. The ministerial spouses also conducted their meeting, examining issues pertinent to their role in the work of the Lord.

The Highlight of the weekend was a visit to a Seventh Day Adventist church in Matanzas on Sabbath. The Ministerial team took the entire worship service with approximately 200 Cubans worshipers. Pastor Shian O’Connor presented the message while Pastor Reynaldo Dracket translated in Spanish. Sis Zorida Powell presented the children story in Spanish while the entire Cayman team provided the song of meditation.  The Cuban brethren were thrilled to have had us for worship and we were delighted to have had the experience to worship in a church on Sabbath, undisturbed in Cuba. To God be the Glory.
