Dr. Leonard Johnson, President and Ministerial Director of ACUM launched and initiated the certification course in order to bring about consolidated unity of faith, doctrine and leadership within our organization.
President, Pastor Shian O’Connor and the other administrators, in conjunction with the Ministerial Department of the Cayman Islands Conference proudly welcomed Dr. Leonard Johnson, President of the Atlantic Caribbean Union Mission to be the chief presenter of our Elders’ Certification Course conducted from Friday, April 13 through Sunday April 15, 2012. It was such a high, profound, informative, spiritual experience to see so many elders and local leaders along with the total cadre of pastors, assembled at the George Town Church Friday night to begin this special weekend seminars.
Dr. Johnson dynamically and professionally lead out in the first six hours presentations on Friday and Saturday evenings dealing with some very deep, relevant church policies, church government, leadership at the various levels and the Doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On Sunday morning beginning at 9.am, the certification course continued with Pastor W. G. McDonald, Ministerial Secretary, presented on the subject of church doctrine with relevance to the immortality of the soul, death and resurrection. The Conference president, Pastor S. O’Connor presented a powerful discourse on the dynamics of evangelism. The Executive Secretary of the Conference, Pastor Al R. Powell who is also the host Pastor for the George Town Church was actively involved as being one of the presenters for this program. The course will continue according to the prescribed curriculum leading up to graduation.
