And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
As the weeks flew by into eternity, they leave with us experiences and evidences of God’s amazing grace and His boundless blessings. This week we have all benefited from His love and His care and at the end we can all say that God has been good. Notwithstanding the tragedies that beset some of our community members in the loss of their love ones. In the midst of their pain God is there to strengthen, comfort and heal.
With this in mind I seek the prayers of all for Shawna Pars who lost her four year old son by drowning over the last weekend. I ask that all of our churches remember her and her family as we worship this weekend. We also pray for Sis. Lyneth Monteith and her family as the funeral services for their mother is this Sabbath evening. We share the grief too of the family of another of our treasured visitors to our Islands who lost his life by drowning over the past weekend. We lift these, our brothers and sisters up in prayers that God may strengthen and sustain them.
We wish also to commend Pastor Caple Thompson and the members of the West Bay Church for their outstanding achievement in their building program. We trust God will continue to bless them as they seek to complete the temple for the Lord.
As we look forward, please be reminded of the Cayman Brac Convention March, 9-11, 2012. I am encouraging as many of our members who are able to attend to try and do so. Please see Sis. Theresa Chin for all information. Also, I would personally like to encourage all to support the Williams Children in Concert tonight at the Prospect School. This is a very worthy cause.
Today we celebrate Pastor Al Powell and the George Town Church for the baptism of two precious souls. We congratulate Pastor Renaldo Dracket and the Filadelfia Church for three baptisms from their week of evangelistic revival. Among the celebrants also are Pastor Wesley Nyack and the Ephesus Church with two baptisms. Today, we welcome a total of 28 new precious souls to the Adventist Church family since the start of this year.
CAYMAN ACADEMY
Red, yellow, blue and colours of different hues streamed through the gates of the Truman Bodden Sports Complex on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 as Cayman Academy hosted its annual sports day. Devotion set the pace for the day’s activities with opening remarks by the principal Mrs. Dracket, opening prayer by Pastor Dracket and President O’Connor rallying the houses and then declaring the sports day open. It was an action packed day as students from Pre-K to Year 12 and the Tiger (yellow), Puma (blue) and Jaguar (red) houses competed to show who was fastest on the track. Muscles, stamina and determination were pushed to the limit as students, teachers and parents cheered and worked hard to claim the champion cup. When the dust settled at the end of the day, Tiger (yellow) was declared the champion while Jaguar (red) and Puma (blue) were second and third respectively. THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Christ taught His disciples that the measure of divine attention bestowed on any of God’s work is proportionate to the rank which that object occupies in the scale of creation. The little brown sparrow, apparently the most inferior of birds, is watched over by Providence. Not one falls to the ground without the notice of our Heavenly Father. The flowers of the field, the grass which clothes the earth with verdure, all share the notice and care of our Heavenly Father. {E.G. White 1888 Materials page 1579}
