The church is getting involved in the fight against illegal firearms as pastors from the Seventh Day Adventist Church have partnered with the RCIPS to assist in accepting illegal and unwanted firearms during the last week of the gun amnesty.

The pastors have all agreed to take weapons from people who are unwilling to go to the police station and then turn those weapons over to police as part of the no questions asked gun amnesty.

An RCIPS spokesperson told Cayman 27 crews they have been working with the pastors to ensure that health and safety issues associated with handling firearms have been addressed.
