Dear Brethren,
Greetings and best wishes from the Cayman Islands Conference family.
We wish to share our joy of having established a new congregation on Sabbath 20 February, 2010 as a result of the Countdown to the End Campaign with Evangelist Shian O’Connor. The Campaign was held January 17 – February 20, 2010 and to God be the Glory, as of last Sabbath a total of 205 persons were baptized.
Pastor Sethres Dixon served as Assistant Evangelist and Pastor Caple Thompson as Campaign
Manager for the series of meetings. We thank the Evangelist and the entire team for their sacrifices in the cause of God.
The love, unity and excitement was contagious as new members were integrated into the family and shared their testimonies of how God used the Evangelist to meet their needs and bring conviction to their hearts.
As a result of the number of new baptisms, the Executive Committee of the Conference met on Thursday, 18 February and approved the establishment of a new congregation, the Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Shian O’Connor as the new Pastor. This new congregation will be housed in the auditorium of one of the lo
cal government schools and efforts are ongoing to lease property for the erection of a church.
The Cayman Conference is currently diverse with two Spanish churches, a Filipino church and twelve English speaking churches. We thank God for His matchless blessings and for allowing us to see 220 persons baptized in less than two months, reaching 76% of our annual goal. We ask for continued prayers and support especially for our newborn sisters and brothers as we strive to reach our heavenly home.
