ADRA expects to feed 10,200 people per day by providing 1,700 food rations. Each ration includes 55 pounds (25 kilograms) of rice and can feed up to six people for several days. As part of the food distribution strategy, only women are being allowed into the distributions sites to receive food. This will help ensure that the food is redistributed equitably among families, according to the UN World Food Programme (WFP). At the end of the 15-day distribution, ADRA will have provided food to 153,000 Haitians

Our medical teams are working around the clock saving lives. However they are running out of supplies and medicines. Without general antibiotics those who have undergone amputations, and even those who have suffered simple injuries like cuts and scrapes, may yet lose their lives due to infection.

As communication technology advances at a fast pace, so must church communicators advance their skills in order to keep the church visible across new and emerging forms of media. During a two-day advisory held Jan. 20-21, at the Inter-American Division (IAD) headquarter office in Miami, FL, church communication leaders from throughout the IAD territory gathered to do just that.

“Our main objective was to inform our directors of their duties as communicators as they interact with the media, write news, produce television programs and engage in church events,” said Pastor Leon B. Wellington, vice president and communication director for the church in Inter-America.
